“My name is Kristin Shotwell and my identity has been stolen… on Tinder.”

“I learned that to register for Tinder, you sign in using your Facebook login so that the information and pictures on your Facebook profile link to your Tinder profile. From there, you can choose which pictures are displayed from your Facebook profile on your Tinder account for other users to see. So, yes, if you were wondering there is a fake Facebook account with all of my pictures on it as well.
To make things difficult, of course my friends did not match with this “Kim” because they were freaked out about it. So, I have no way of finding this person all the way in Chapel Hill. This is where I need your help.
Because of this incident, I plan on writing my final paper for my JOMC240 class, in which we discuss the future of mass communication and media, about my stolen virtual identity, online privacy and security. My professor told me to try to find this “Kim” to make for a better story before contacting Tinder to take down the profile, because it would be far more entertaining to confront this person about stealing all of my pictures than to simply delete the account. And, I agree.”
